Portola Hills Neighborhood of Lake Forest California
Located in the city of Lake Forest, California, the United States lies the district of Portola Hills in Orange County. Before Lake Forest was annexed in 2000, it was an unincorporated village and a census-designated place. At the 2000 census, 6,391 people were living in the city. Whitney Ranch Wilderness Park and Cleveland National Forest are located nearby Portola Hills. West of Foothill Ranch, to the south of Rancho Santa Margarita, to the southeast of Rancho Viejo, and north and northeast, respectively, of Mission Viejo, are the unincorporated communities of Silverado and Santiago Canyon.
Portola Hills, a residential town with a population of more than 6,000, was named after Gaspar de Portola, the first terrestrial Spanish explorer to visit this area in 1769. Stanford White designed the house in 1888 and erected it on a property named ‘Forest of Arden,’ where Madame Modjeska, one of the world’s best actresses, lived. It stands as a lasting homage to a lady who had a lasting impact on the cultural landscape of Orange County.
Located in Lake Forest, Portola Hills was incorporated into the city in 2000, with a 2007 population of 6,700. At the Foothill Ranch retail center, you’ll find a wide range of stores, theatres, and restaurants. Its proximity to the Saddleback Mountains and the neighboring Silverado Canyon and Trabuco Canyon makes this neighborhood a desirable area to live if you want to be near to nature but not too distant from the luxuries of our modern world. Portola Hills has a school named Portola Hills Elementary, where children get their education. It is a very good school that has maintained its reputation and is loved by a number of people living in the area. People from other areas also attend the school.
There are 2,181 houses in Portola Hills, which has a population density of 6.25 houses per acre, on 348.8 acres (141.2 hectares) of land. A mix of single- and multi-family dwellings is included in 14 separate tracts. State senator John Moorlach and Assemblyman Steven Choi represent Portola Hills in the state legislature. This part of California’s 45th district is represented in Congress by Democratic Congresswoman Katie Porter.
